How will you defend your right to bare arms

I am a hard line advocate of the right to bare arms, but I don't own a gun. That might seem a little odd to some people, especially people like myself who believe in the right to bare arms.

I also believe in freedom of speech, the right to privacy and all the other rights guaranteed in the Constitution of the United States. In this article, I want to focus on the gun issue. I have a few questions that I would like to hear gun advocates weigh in on. I honestly believe that any gun owner would use their gun in self defense of their personal property, their families or themselves if any of these things were being threatened by a violent threat coming from another citizen. But, would you use that same weapon on a Government official who has come to take your weapon away from you because the Government has passed a law forbidding you to have a fire arm? Would you use that weapon to resist the police or the military in an armed confrontation to protect your right to bare that fire arm? I seriously doubt that there are many people who would be willing to actually use deadly force to make sure that this right to bare arms is preserved. I hope I am wrong about this. I think that many gun owners have their guns based on the condom principle. (It is better to have one and not need it than it is to need one and not have it.) I think that a gun gives some people a false sense of security and can actually put some individuals in more danger than if they did not own one.

Inexperience does not and should not deny a person the right to bare arms, it simply puts that person and the people who come into contact with that person in more danger. The argument I often hear from people from my own camp of gun advocates is that owning a gun is what is going to stop the spread of tyranny in America and the World at large. I am not so sure that the same people who wouldn't hesitate to shoot a fellow Citizen would use a gun to defend their own right to bare arms. It is all too easy to talk big when there is not any real threat to take away your arms, but when the threat becomes real, what will you actually do? and what will your gun owning neighbors do when the see you being drug out of your home and your guns being confiscated? Without an organized Civilian Militia, the individual gun owner is just that... an individual gun owner.
