Harmful pet foods

Would you like to eat road kill?

What is in you pet's food?

Have you ever wondered what is in your dog or cat's food? Maybe you should, because you could be unknowingly contributing to your pet's health problems. Watch the video for more information on this alarming subject.

Aside from potentially putting your pets health in jeopardy, it just seems inhumane to feed an animal pet food that could have potentially come from road kill. If you are like most people, you love your pet. I grew up in a home where we had horses, dogs, cats, goldfish, parrots and my Father even brought home a green spider monkey. My Mother did not allow us to keep the Monkey, because he was simply too difficult to manage.

Now I am in my mid fifties, single and thinking about getting a pet. However, I am concerned about what is safe to feed a cat or a dog. If anyone can offer any dependable advice on dog or cat food brands that are affordable for someone on a fixed income, I would really like to hear you comments in the comments section of this blog.

Thank you for your participation.

Hi there neocarl. Well, if you plan on having a pet...and just one; then, though it is more expensive than the usual brands, I'd definitely feed your companion animal BLUE (Blue Buffalo) brand. This is clean, corn free and the ingredients appear to be much superior than the cheaper and mass produced carbohydrated packed foods for our cats and dogs. I hope this helps...your hub is very helpful and I agree with you that we must be more aware of our animals' diets as well as our own...BTW, animals that are killed in our 'kill shelters' are often rendered into food for the very species they are....this is so very pathetic and sad....a surrendered animal (dog or cat) ends up being food for other dogs and cats...Not a pretty thought. Check out BLUE products..if you can't buy locally; they are online. Best of luck. Kathy
